Embark on a Sacred Journey to Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar
Join us on an extraordinary pilgrimage to the spiritual heart of the Himalayas, Mount
Kailash. Revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers, this sacred mountain
offers an unforgettable journey of both physical challenge and spiritual renewal. Our 10-
day tour also includes a visit to the tranquil waters of Lake Manasarovar, believed to
cleanse the soul.
Location: Kathmandu
Arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal’s vibrant capital city. After airport pick-up, transfer to your
hotel. Our official will collect the original passport and 4 passport size picture for VISA
process. The evening is free to explore the bustling streets of Thamel or rest before the
start of your journey.
Overnight in Kathmandu.
Location: Kathmandu
Morning breakfast at hotel and visit to Pashupatinath Temple, Guheswori Temple and
Budhanilkantha Temple. Briefing of the whole program during afternoon time at hotel.
Packing of luggage and ready to move for Yatra next day.
Location: Syabrubesi
Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi/Tatopani, a small town near the Tibetan border. The scenic
drive takes you through lush green hills, rivers, and terraced farmlands.
Drive: 6-7 hours. Overnight in Syabrubesi/Tatopani
Location: Kerung
Cross the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi and drive to the Tibetan town of Kerung.
This drive marks the beginning of your journey on the Tibetan Plateau.
Drive: 4-5 hours. Overnight in Kerung.
Location: Saga
Continue your journey towards Saga, passing through high mountain passes with
stunning panoramic views of the Himalayas. Witness the vastness of the Tibetan
plateau, dotted with nomadic settlements.
Drive: 6-7 hours. Overnight in Saga.
Location: Saga
The day is full rest day with short walk for 2-3 hours around Saga city. Preparation for travel to Holy Lake Mansarovar next day.
Location: Mansarovar
Drive towards the sacred Lake Manasarovar, one of the holiest lakes in Hinduism and
Buddhism. Enjoy a peaceful evening by the lake and, if desired, take a holy dip in its
pure waters. The view of Mount Kailash in the distance adds to the spiritual ambiance.
Drive: 6-7 hours. Overnight at guesthouse near Lake Manasarovar.
Location: Darchen
After morning prayers and exploration around Lake Manasarovar, you’ll drive to
Darchen, the base town for the Mount Kailash Kora. Take the evening to rest and prepare
for the next day’s trek.
Drive: 1 hours. Overnight in Darchen.
Location: Dirapuk
Start the 3-day Kailash Kora, trekking from Darchen to Dirapuk Monastery. The trek
offers the first close-up views of Mount Kailash’s north face, a sacred and awe-inspiring
sight for pilgrims.
Trek: 13km, 5-6 hours. Overnight in Dirapuk guesthouse.
Location: Zuthulpuk
This is the toughest yet the most spiritually rewarding day of the trek, as you cross
Dolma La Pass, the highest point of the Kora. You will descend past Gauri Kund, a
sacred lake, and continue to Zuthulpuk Monastery.
Trek: 22km, 8-9 hours. Overnight in Zuthulpuk guesthouse.
Location: Saga
Complete the Kora, trekking back to Darchen. After lunch, drive back to Saga. The sense
of accomplishment, having completed the Kailash Kora, will linger as you retrace your
steps back across the Tibetan landscape.
Trek: 12km, 4-5 hours. Drive: 5-6 hours. Overnight in Saga.
Location: Kerung
Drive to Kerung, last night at Tibet.
Location: Kathmandu
Make your way back to the border town of Kerung and cross into Nepal. From here, drive
back to Kathmandu, where the tour concludes.
Drive: 7-8 hours. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Location: Kathmandu
With the blessing of Lord Shiva, start your journey back home.
